Melyssa Ford is the greatest video model of all-time.

How so?

Because just about every model that contacts, The Flow or that we talk with directly usually references her by name and use her as a focal point in the rise of their own careers.

Example 1: “I want to be like Melyssa Fordonly bigger.”

Example 2:
 “I think she’s pretty…but I’m prettier.”

Example 3:
“I like Melyssa Ford…but she ain’t all that.”

Example 4:
 “She takes good pictures…sometimes.”

Example 5:
“She does videos, television and movies and that what I want to do.”

“Competition breeds contempt” in most cases but it’s an entertaining situation to be a part of, nonetheless.

Discovered by famed Music director, Little X in a Toronto nightclub, he launched the Afro-Caribbean/Russian and Norwegian beauty's modeling career by placing her in some of the hottest videos ever seen.

Mystikal's "Shake it Fast", R. Kelly's "Happy People", Jay-Z's"Big Pimpin'", Usher feat. Ludacris and Lil' Jon's "Yeah",Jadakiss's "Knock Yourself Out", Ghostface Killa's "Cherchez La Ghost", 112's "Anywhere", Sisqo's "Thong Song Remix".

Melyssa has hosted BET's, How I'm Livin' series, and the lifestyle show BET Style. She has graced the covers of XXL, Black Men, Smooth, King Magazine and now, The Flow.

She made her big screen debut in Turn It Up with Pras, Ja Ruleand Jason Statham.

But, it is her conflict with Compton MC, The Game that's heating up the pressbox, as of late.

In his song, “Never Get Far,” feat. Kanye West, from his new album “Doctor’s Advocate,”  Game throws stones in glasshouses with the lyrics, “And all these new video b**ches tryin’ to be Melyssa Ford/But they don’t know Melyssa Ford drive a Honda Accord,” and “She a video vixen, but behind closed doors/She do whatever it take to get to the Grammy Awards."

In response, Ford states, “I am really confused and saddened that he decided to include my name on a record that disparages the characters of women who have worked hard in the industry to make successful careers for themselves.” (By the way, she does NOT drive a Honda Accord).

July '05's
Face Of The Flow, Vida Guerra was also targeted byGame in the song said,

"The whole thing with being a sex symbol, is people put you in that category," she explained. '' When I first heard about it, I thought, oh, he's asked me out a couple of times and I've always said no. So it's like, 'Is that why you wrote the song?' It's like you're talking sh**, but you were trying to get with me."

Melyssa tells The Flow, "Video girls are a scapegoat because we are visible; we are the most visible.Video girls are a symptom of the problem, but everyone is responsible for themselves."

Melyssa Ford has definitely proven that she is more than just a pretty face; she is also a saavy business woman.

With her successful line of calendars and DVDs, Ford is ready for bigger and better things...
Such as major films, major movie roles, and major superstardom.
