MJ Tribute

"The King Of Pop" (1958-2009): A Tribute

Story and Memories by  Matthew Shack

1 Corinithans 12:4
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit;"

This is a story I thought I'd never write, nor wanted to.

Michael Joseph Jackson, the "greatest entertainer in the history of mankind" is dead at 50.

Like the rest of the world, we are tragically hurt by his passing and The Flow sends our sincerest condolences and prayers to Katherine Jackson and theJackson family.

MJ's legacy does not have to be repeated, so I won't take up valuable typing space being redundant.  But, I will say this:

Michael Jackson is the BIGGEST musical influence of our lifetime. All criticisms of his personal life included.

1 Peter 5:8 "Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour."

Say whatever you wish about him, both good or indifferent...Mike STAYED playing on your stereo and kept your ASS on the dancefloor for 95% of his life!

I had the absolute pleasure of meeting him as a kid, and seeing him perform live, twice. And believe me, Michael put on a show like NO other.

I didn't know the man, personally but I felt I did. He was like my big brother as far as music is concerned. A forthcoming MiJac album release was a always a HUGE event.

I have many memories of planning to wake up early so I could be at the record store when it first opened.

Why? Because, I knew his album was going to SMOKING hot!! And it was.

Now, I have to listen to posthumous releases without MJ's formal input? Not happy.

Ecclesiastes 4:2 "And I thought the dead who are already dead more fortunate than the living who are still alive."

Now, I have listen to people like Bill O'Reilly and other haters who say "he's NOT important and he's a pedofile?" Not happy.

Matthew 7:3 "Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in someone else's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?"

Now, I'm waiting for toxicology reports and doctors to give a viable explanation on why and how a musical icon's heart stops after a 4 1/2 hour medical examination, that just gave him the thumbs up to tour? Not happy.

3 John 1:2 "Beloved, I pray that all may go well with you and that you may be in good health, as it goes well with your soul."

But, I am happy about this: I got to pay my respects to the man, the way I wanted to...in person.

I went to his house. I went to his star. I heard his music in cars riding by and in the stores I shopped in.

I haven't watched his CNN special, but I will when I'm ready.

Remember, Michael Jackson... LIVES! We still have him in our hearts and memories. Nothing can change that.

And to the haters?...When YOU die??... No one else will care other than your friends and family. So I hope you have A LOT of them...because, Mike has MILLIONS!

Matthew 7:1-2  1"Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.

I saw it with my own eyes...the candlelight vigils... the hand written posters...the trinkets and flowers in memorandum. People are speechless and hurt beyond belief.

I was there.

But, Michael is gone because he had a bigger show to do.

"The King of Pop" is NOW entertaining the "KING of KINGS and the LORD of LORDS."

Luke 23:43 "And he said to him, “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in Paradise.“

Rest in peace, MJ...hee hee!
