Kendrick Lamar bagged home best Hip Hop music award for his album “Humble”. The award was presented to him at MTV Music Video Awards on August 27, 2017. The winning album received a large critical acclaim for both lyrics as well as visuals. It was a great moment for the directors Dave Meyers, TDE President Dave Free and K. Dot as they took home best cinematography award for the best visuals.

The release of Humble brought heat as Kendrick shifted his emphasizes from introspection to instruction. The lyrics depicted black man’s experience and his thoughts on black women. Among all the nominees of the award ceremony, Kendrick leads with eight nominations in total.

What makes “Humble”, the best hip hop music? It is its unconventional sound and lyrics that are worth hearing on repeat. His politically charged lyricism gives the listeners an insight of the chronological breakdown that Lamar confronted in his relationships with different women.

He arose mammoth enthusiasm in public when he revealed a bit about his upcoming follow up release of his Grammy winning project named “To Pimp A Butterfly”.
