Listen to "Conceited" below.
This month's installment of "Amplified" is about "The Bronx Bombshell" herself, Remy Ma.
"There's Something About Remy: Based On A True Story is the album that Big Pun had been wanting to get out of his female protege over six years ago.
This project IS history.
It's the only album in existance to have an unreleasedPun verse, on The Alchemist produced, "Thug Luv."
"It's crazy because I remember it so clear when we did it, early 2000. It sounds like we could've done it last week," Remy says.
Other features include Keyshia Cole, "What's Going On", and the Swizz Beats produced club banger "Whuteva," the first single from "There's Something."
Rounding out the album is producer Scram Jones' "Lights, Camera, Action," "Can't Nobody" with platinum producers Cool & Dre and red-hot R&B sensation, Ne-Yo with "Feel So Good".
On the radio killin' Scott Storch produced single “Conceited," Remy let’s it be known that confidence is king..but in this case?
"Every chick that hears this song is gonna feel like this is her song. I'm happy with the way I look. I feel just fine. I'm not lettin' nobody convince me otherwise."
Big Pun would be proud of the lyrical monster that he helped to create in Remy Ma.
"There's Something About Remy: Based On A True Story...definitely lives up to the long and strong legacy of "The Boogie Down Bronx".
