Sonae Ryder:Saddle Up!
Story and Interview by Matthew Shack
Ok...let's stop right there for a second.
Look at her picture AGAIN and repeat after me, slowly.
Ahh....just rolls of the tip of the tongue, like butter.
It almost feels as good saying it, as doing it....ALMOST.
The Philadelphia hometown knock-out (My SIXERS for life!!..too bad they don't win...but I digress) is in no uncertain terms is absolutely KILLING the game and she is ONLY, 20-years-old.
Her unmistakable allure had blessed the pages of KING, Blackmen’s, XXL, Smooth, Show, the 2007 Jet Beauty Calendar and The Flow Online Magazine!
You've see her on Nick Cannon’s Wild N’ Out on MTV.
She was the principal model in both the ”Streets on Lock” feat.Young Jeezy and Fabolous and "Have a Party" by Mobb Deep & 50 Cent videos.
She's not only sexy...she's sultry. And she's sensually seductive.
Any "puns" regarding her surname of, "RYDER" and whatever"sexapades" that are crossing our "dirty little minds" whilst "she rideth the mechanical bull" are just a waste of my valuable typing time.
Sonae is a "Ryder"...both literally and figuratively.
TFM: You're out here in a real big way!
Sonae: [Smiles] Yeah...I don't think anything is wrong with that. It's fun and I'm making money. I'm meeting people...it's fun.
TFM: How did you go about getting yourself in "the game"?
Sonae: Well, I submitted my own pictures first to KING, FHM, Maxim and stuff like that. I got little articles in the back of their stories. So I just submitted my pictures and I got into FHM, first. From there, KING saw me and they contacted me for that. So I guess I started myself.
TFM: What gave you the confidence to feel that you could just do that or were you just testing it out?
Sonae: I had the confidence but I just thought it was fun. When I was younger, I was like silly and always dancing around and taking pictures , so it came naturally. It wasn't anything to me. I thought it was like a hobby.
TFM: Are people more surprised of your success than you are?
Sonae: Yeah, I think so. Some stuff that I do I don't tell people. I have a different side outside of modeling. I do other things. I'm a medical assistant, so I do that. I just don't go to work and say, "Hey, I'm in this magazine and I have a bathing suit on and I look cute in it." So, I just take it how it comes.
TFM: What do you consider to be your best physical feature?
Sonae: My smile and my eyes.
TFM: What are your measurements?
Sonae: 36C-27-36 and I'm 5'7.
TFM: What’s the worst pick-up line that's ever been tried on you?
Sonae: What bothers me is when guys say, "I just wanna be your friend." You don't want to be my friend...you want more than that.
TFM: You don't think that someone can judge your "friendworthiness" by speaking to you for a few minutes?
Sonae: Well, yes [if we're speaking] for a while but THAT'S the pick-up line. When a guy approaches me quickly and they don't get to know me? That's the pick-up line.
TFM: Right! What other pet peeves do you have regarding men?
Sonae: I like clean men. You have to have good hygiene. And I don't like lazy men. They don't want to do anything. That's not cool. And, bad hands and nails. If you don't take care of your hands? That's bad.
TFM: If you don't take care of your hands you aren't taking care of OTHER stuff.
Sonae: Uh-uh! You can be rubbing on me with your crusty hands! That's not gonna work. [Laughing]
TFM: [Laughing] Give us one of your "patented" beauty secrets.
Sonae: Neutrogena Body Scrub. That's really good for your skin.
TFM: What advice would you give to all of those aspiring models out there, who are trying to follow in your footsteps?
Sonae: I would just say, stay focused. Be confident; always respect yourself. Carry yourself like a lady.
