Story and Interview by Matthew Shack
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder...but what if you're unable to focus?
That's what Lovely Latysha Antuna does to cameras...she MAKES them LOSE focus.
The Orlando, FL femme-fatale is currently using her "southern heat" to burn-up the modeling game with the quickness.
You've seen her in Show Magazine: Art Of The Sexy Issue, ATA Splash DVD , Superme Magazine, WWS Online Magazine, 24hourhiphop.com, Indie22.com, Southernxposure models, Exotic Eye Candy, ATA Model, Eyecandyxotic.com, VBlazin, AllHood, Slickforcestudios, NASCAR, Crown Royal, J.Lo's Clothing Line, G-Unit...and most importantly, The Flow Online Magazine.
Latysha is also down with The Flow's new modeling division, "Flowstoppers". So...be on the look-out for Lovely Latysha.
TFM: How did you get introduced into the modeling business?
Latysha:I have always had peoples’ attention with a camera, I guess. When I was in high school, photographers would stop me and ask me if I "was a model" because I had the look. So with the support of my friends and family I decided to pursue modeling.
TFM: You have a very exotic look, what is your nationality?
Latysha: My dad is half Black and Puerto Rican and my mom is Scottish.
TFM: What is your definition of a successful model and how it applies to Latysha?
Latysha: A successful model to me is one that stays on her grind. There's a lot of women that get into modeling for the wrong reasons, like they just want to be groupies. But I am a woman about my business and that’s the way it has to be. Because this life can easily have you blinded by the lights and losing yourself.
TFM: Tell us about what you have planned for '08?
Latysha: To go the top…that’s the only place for me. ..[laughs] ‘08 is definitely about doing it bigger and better. My official website www.lovelylatysha.com is launching soon and really going be the site my fans have been waiting to see. Then, you’ll see me featured in a lot more magazines. And there are some other projects in the works but I don’t want to give them away just yet.
TFM: What are your measurements, weight and height?
Latysha: Didn’t your mom ever tell you not to ask a woman her weight?…[laughs] I’m 5’6 and my measurements are 34B-25-44..
TFM: What is your most favorite part of your body and why?
Latysha: My bottom…you love it!!…[laughing]
TFM: Tell us one of your "patented" beauty secrets.
Latysha: I’m on a drama-free diet..[laughs] Stress causes rapid weight gain and poor skin conditions... look it up, if you don't believe me. There comes a time when you have to get rid of all the negative people in your life and change any negative situations that you're in. So I let all of that go and moved on. Beauty is on the inside as well, and all the drama will make you feel bad about yourself…so let it go.
TFM: What pet peeves do you have regarding men?
Latysha: I can’t stand guys that are self centered, that only talk about sex. Another thing I hate is when grown men dress like teenagers with extra large clothes ...all the time and the guys who wear the "fake" diamonds. Step ya, game up! [laughs]
TFM: Can a normal guy get with you or does he have to have something ‘crackin’?
Latysha: Of course…as long as he’s educated with a career, who loves to have fun and that can be romantic at the right times. If you wrap all that up... and if he loves to spoil me? We got a keeper!....[laughs] By spoil me, I mean like buying me simple things like a rose to make me smile. I also love a man that can sing…when I say sing I mean like really sing like Tank not like some of dudes that are auditioning on American Idol…..[Laughing]
TFM: What advice would you give to all of those models out there, who are trying to follow in your footsteps?
Latysha:Understand that this is a business and it is really competitive. You have to be driven and organized. You have to show up for every casting call and to all of your photo shoots. Your hard work will show and the photographers will want to work with you again. Don’t forget there are a lot of perverts in the modeling industry. That’s real talk! All they want is sex but they promise you gigs in magazines, videos, commercials, etc. So keep your head in the game so you can make the industry better for other models that want to follow your path.
