The Abyss

Virgil "Bud" Brigman
(Ed Harris) and his estranged wife Lindsey Brigman (Mary Elizabeth Mastrantonio) are in charge of a privately owned experimental underwater oil platform commandeered by Navy SEAL team led by Lt. Coffey (Michael Biehn) to locate an
American sinking submarine.

As the crew set out on their operation, they detect and determine that they are not alone in the abyss.
Directed by James Cameron.

The legendary Cameron has directed the two highest-grossing films in history, Titanic and Avatar at $2.16 billion and $2.78 billion proportionately.

To say that this guy knows how to make a movie is like saying Babe Ruth knew how to hit a baseball.

Justification to watch or re-watch The Abyss is to see the cinematic metamorphosis of this creative genius at work.
