Pacific Rim

Pacific Rim (2013)

The movie immediately took back to the days of Godzilla, Spectre Man, and Ultra Man when ever day at 5 o'clock you can watch any one of the three go at it in a giant monster giant robot epic battle.

In this film we get to see Idris Elba take charge of the giant robot fleet as they take the line to fight off the mysterious monster the rise up from the deep ocean.

When legions of monstrous creatures, known as Kaiju, started rising from the sea, a war began that would take millions of lives and consume humanity's resources for years on end.

To combat the giant Kaiju, a special type of weapon was devised: massive robots, called Jaegers, which are controlled simultaneously by two pilots whose minds are locked in a neural bridge. But even the Jaegers are proving nearly defenseless in the face of the relentless Kaiju.

On the verge of defeat, the forces defending mankind have no choice but to turn to two unlikely heroes - a washed up former pilot (Charlie Hunnam) and an untested trainee (Rinko Kikuchi) - who are teamed to drive a legendary but seemingly obsolete Jaeger from the past. Together, they stand as mankind's last hope against the mounting apocalypse

This movie displays the building bashing, and fist throwing antics you have always craved.

Following the French atomic bomb tests in the South Pacific, an unknown creature is spotted passing eastward through the Panama Canal.

Scientist Niko Tatopolous (Matthew Broderick) is called in to investigate the matter, and he quickly arrives at the conclusion that a giant, irradiated lizard has been created by the explosions.

Skip to Tahiti where a French scientist (Jean Reno) is interrogating an old man who was the only survivor of the attack on the Japanese fishing boat. When asked what attacked him, he replies Gojira 3 times.

Godzilla then makes its way north, landing at Manhattan to begin wreaking havoc in the big city. Even with the combined forces of the U.S. military to fight the monster, will it be enough to save the people of New York?
